A smooth crossing of the English Channel. Wandering around downtown Calais. Pretty nice. Eating baguette with ham, soft French cheese,  tomato and Cafe au Lait.  Bliss. Everyone speaking French – such a sexy language!

In the last 25 years of the last century, massive hovercraft would come ashore here, filled with tourists and their vehicles. No longer economic, all that remains is a huge tract of sea front land with fantastic views. 4pm Monday 19 August 2024
