There are NO signs or menus in English. Only Polish, Russian and Lithuanian. Hardly anyone speaks English. They’re an arrogant lot, really. Their driving is atrocious. Not open to chatting, except a couple visiting on motorbikes – they were nice.

Organised religion is such a crock of shit. The original white Church built 1617. The Tsars refused to allow a new church, so the clever buggers built a brick “extension” in 1900, ten times the size of the original.
