I chose this city purely as a 300 km drive from Vilnius, Lithuania, having no idea of its history or what it might offer.
The rain has stopped, and after a foggy start, I ventured into the city.
For a start, it has a palace, 350 years old, which used to be known as the Versailles of Poland. It is now the School of Medicine of the city’s university.
It has great public artwork, clean, wide streets, and a great atmosphere.
It’s off-season, so, nice and quiet too.
