War Footing

Wed 11 Sep 24 lunch time.

Sunny  24°

I had the most enlightening chat with a fellow diner at lunch in Vilnius. A construction manager told me about the incredible spending on major civilian and military civil works to prepare for war with Russia.

It’s insane.

Today I saw NATO fighters in the air, and a shed load of military vehicles on the move.

Next door to my Airbnb, my host pointed out a massive underground Air Raid shelter being built under a major high school.

The whole place is “on edge”.

I wonder if Lthuania will disappear in a puff of smoke and I’ll be one the last tourists to see it in its present form?

To actually be here at this time is a little spooky.

Lovely Welcome Chocolate for me.
My Airbnb on the 4th floor. Huge room with its own balcony. Superb.
