Tallin Part I. 26 degrees. Blue skies

Sat 7 Sep 24

Tallinn gives ne a strange vibe.

As in 2019, the first thing to strike me were the gangsters and their cars. Seriously expensive AMG Mercedes everywhere. Just like the Gold Coast in Australia.

Very, very cute blonde girls are also driving AMG SUVs everywhere, the GLE53 seeming to be a favourite.

However, unlike 2019 where I spent the night and departed early in the morning, I persevered and was rewarded with aching feet walking over 7 kms through Old Tallinn.

Gorgeous but, sadly, too many T shirt shops, broken footpaths and a general air of “not happy”, which is the vibe I got in 2019. Not very happy people.

Wealthy tourists being ripped off with Helsinki prices and tiny servings of food. I snacked all day from my supermarket purchases yesterday in Helsinki.

I’ll divide this post into 3 or 4 as there are lots of photos.

The buildings are almost all over 800 years old. The description plaques on most buildings were very well done and informative. 5 stars for that.

Great views.

Soviet era Olympic Games venue for 1980s fallen into disrepair.
Very cool with a huge and varied history
