There is NO EVIDENCE of Chinese economic miracle, superior construction etc. It’s broken, run-down and poorly run.
All the staff are rude, unfriendly, and unhelpful.
There are no restaurants or cafes open whilst waiting for the London flight.
No shuttle turned up for the hotel, so a fellow passenger and I walked to the shitty Airport Hotel and shared a twin room. The pillow cases and sheets smelled of cigarette smoke, wifi did not work, no mini bar, no service, no smiles. Terrible.
The Brisbane Shanghai flight was an hour late, and this flight to London is past its departure time with no sign of any staff, no announcements.
Hopeless.
